When I was a kid, I would come home from elementary school and watch reruns of old TV dramas.
There was something about those slightly dark crime dramas—the city streets, the cars, and this mysterious “adult world” that I was still too young to really understand.
I also remember feeling strangely excited whenever a scene with a little grown-up sensuality appeared.
When I wrote this song 27 years ago, what I had in mind was exactly that kind of 1970s Japanese crime drama.
Back then, it was a world I could only imagine through sound. Now, 27 years later, I’ve tried to bring that world to life visually using AI.
The 1970s that exist in my memory are probably a little different from the real 1970s.
So rather than trying to recreate the era exactly, perhaps this music video is my way of recreating the “adult world” I felt while watching television as a child—this time through the eyes of who I am today.
